511NY Rideshare members commuting to or within the Hudson Valley can use up to $300 per year* toward qualified rides. Members may use the Guaranteed Ride Program (GRP) in the event of an emergency or a qualified unexpected situation (please see qualifying reasons to take a ride).

*Active UniTicket monthly bus/rail or ferry/rail combination ticket holders with qualifying connecting services trips are eligible for up to $600 per year toward qualified rides. Please see ''I am an UniTicket Holder'' below.

Members may use the GRP in the event of an emergency or an unexpected situation. The following are examples of valid reasons to utilize the program:

  • Medical emergency
  • Family emergency
  • Unscheduled overtime
  • Carpool vehicle breaks down
  • Carpool/vanpool driver unavailable

The GRP may NOT be used for:

  • Personal errands or travel
  • Pre-planned medical or dental appointments
  • Business-related travel
  • Non-emergency side trips on the way home
  • Trips to work

There is no limit on the number of rides you can take as long as you do not exceed your GRP allowance. Members can use up to $300 per year toward qualified rides.

If you are an active UniTicket monthly pass holder, you may use up to $600 per year by earning bonus funds listed in the 511NY Rideshare Expansion Welcome Packet.

GRP Members can use local cabs, ridesharing (Uber or Lyft), ride with a coworker, family member or friend, or take a transit trip*.

*This will only qualify for emergency trips, not normal carpool, or transit trips. All trips are at the discretion of a 511NY Rideshare GRP Administrator.

Please allow 24 to 48 hours for our team to approve your account. Individuals will receive an email with steps on how to add the 511NY Rideshare profile to their Uber account.

To order a GRP ride using Uber, please follow the steps below:

  1. Call 511NY Rideshare Member support at 1-866-692-6668, Monday through Friday 6:00 AM - 7:00 PM. Our Member Support team will determine the eligibility of the ride based on the quoted trip cost, reason for the ride and trip location
  2. Once approved, Member Support will arrange the ride over the phone and provide individuals with the make and model of the vehicle, license plate number and driver name.
  3. Please be sure to note all the details before accepting the ride from the Lyft driver.

If you do not have access to the 511NY Rideshare Uber or Lyft, you may still take a ride with those services.
