It's always a great time to celebrate sustainable mobility, in various community transportation events held throughout the year. The events below are some that are coming up in the next few months. For those looking for sustainable ways to travel, 511NY Rideshare offers several commute options, including carpooling, vanpooling, public transportation, bicycling, walking, and telework. Summer Streets

Summer Streets is an annual celebration of New York City's most valuable public space – our streets. On select summer Saturdays our city’s usual traffic noise and honking horns will be replaced with open streets teeming with walkers, bikers, runners, and performers. Discover a wealth of free cultural programs, performances, fitness classes, interactive art, giveaways, and much more as you experience the city in this whole new way.

Frolic at the Farm

Frolic at the Farm is an all ages, family-friendly evening of live music and summer fun! 511NY Rideshare has a carpool matching system to help you get to the Frolic sustainably. To sign up for 511NY Rideshare’s carpool matching system, become a member and use 511NY Rideshare’s Find a Carpool Tool. Follow the instructions on the webpage and add a note in the ride matching notes field that your trip is for "Frolic at the Farm." You must be logged in to save your trip and find ridematches!  Car-Free Lake Placid

Travel car-free to Lake Placid and be eligible for discounts from area businesses and retailers. You can travel car-free to the Lake Placid area on Amtrak and the Adirondack Trailways bus service. Once you arrive in Lake Placid, the Essex County Public Transit offers public transportation locally, including many routes that serve tourists in peak seasons.  If you are planning a trip to Lake Placid, email us and we can help you plan your car-free experience.
