Walk & Roll to School Day – October 7, 2026

Join schools and communities across the country for National Walk & Roll to School Day on October 7! This annual event celebrates the benefits of walking, biking, and rolling to school while encouraging safe, active, and sustainable ways for students and families to get around.

Participating in Walk & Roll to School Day and interested in keeping the momentum going? Consider turning your one-day event into a regular Bike Bus! A Bike Bus is a group of students and families who bike to school together along a planned route, often with designated stops along the way.

The 511NY Rideshare team can help you get started. Contact us for support planning a Bike Bus, identifying a route and stops, organizing volunteers, and developing a program that works for your school community.

Cranksgiving November 2026

Cranksgiving is a food drive on two wheels. Part bike ride, part food drive, part scavenger hunt, it has been held annually in New York City since 1999.

Bring a bike, a bag, a lock, and some funds to buy groceries. All of the food collected at grocery stores benefits your local charity. Every year, we help provide thousands of needy families with a wealth of food during the week of Thanksgiving.
