Strava Data

Strava is a fitness tracking app that is free to download. It allows users to track routes taken while walking, running, or bicycling using their phone’s GPS sensor. The data available here provides this activity information tied to OpenStreetMap (OSM) segments. The data shows walking path, trail, and segment usage beyond the established NYSDOT linear referencing system (LRS) system. Data is available by hourly, daily, monthly, and yearly aggregated datasets.

The Strava data is stored in an S3 bucket within the Data Lake AWS account. Strava data is grouped in separate pedestrian and bike datasets and further grouped by year and month.
