Following the success of Green Your Commute Day, the Departments of Environmental Conservation and Transportation, NYSERDA, and 511NY Rideshare have partnered to bring you the Summer 2019 Green Your Commute Challenge! The challenge allows municipalities, State agencies, SUNY and CUNY schools to demonstrate their climate leadership through a friendly competition - from June to August - to see whose employees can reduce the most greenhouse gas emissions. Throughout the summer, employees are encouraged to use a more sustainable mode of transportation to get to work.
Sustainable commute modes to consider: walking; biking; taking public transit; carpooling; driving an electric vehicle
PARTICIPATE IN THE CHALLENGE
Commute sustainably during the summer to take part in the challenge! Log your trips with the 511NY Rideshare Trip Tracker mobile app (become a member to use the app) and calculate how much money you're saving - and CO2 emissions you're reducing - every time you carpool, bike, walk or take public transportation or drive an electric vehicle. It feels great to see those dollars add up, and to know that you're helping New Yorkers to breathe easier by reducing emissions!
- Register: Complete the Summer Green Your Commute Challenge survey.
- Track: Log your trips on the free 511NY Rideshare Trip Tracker mobile app.
