Commute with Transit and Save

Riding the bus or train offers commuters a range of benefits. Using transit can help you save money on vehicle expenses, such as car payments, insurance, fuel, parking, and maintenance. Transit riders also don't have to worry about traffic, and can focus on other things like reading, listening to music, or getting a jumpstart on work during the commute.

With the NFTA's Metro Perk program, employers who opt in can offer their employees the ability to pay for their transit passes using pre-tax money deducted from their paycheck. Although commuters still pay the full $75 for a monthly pass, reducing taxable income equates to about $22 in savings for people in the 15% tax bracket (and more for those in higher brackets). Most Metro Perk participants see about 30% in savings. Learn more on the NFTA's Metro Perk page, then talk to your employer about signing up!
