Winter Storm Maya



Due to the impact of Winter Storm Maya, Winter Storm Warnings and Advisories have been issued across New York State from 6:00am on Tuesday, February 12 to 6:00pm on Wednesday, February 13. Between 10 to 18 inches of snow are anticipated in the Adirondacks. Western New York, the Southern Tier, the Capital District and the Catskills can expect between 5 and 9 inches of snow along with ice and high winds. Downstate New York is forecasted to get up to 5 inches of precipitation. Slippery roads and low visibility are expected across the state, impacting Tuesday and Wednesday commutes.

Long Island

  • LIRR - allow extra time for travel and possibly delays. 

Hudson Valley:

  • Metro-North - allow for extra travel time & be careful when walking on stairs, waiting on platforms and getting on and off our trains

Hudson Valley

  • Ulster County Area Transit - Due to the prediction of sleet and freezing rain UCAT will be suspending services by noon time today 2/12/2019. List of last runs here.
  • Bee-Line buses and ParaTransit vehicles are running on or close to schedule.  Rt. 9 is operating on a detour-avoiding Vineyard Ave. at Father Finnian Dr.  From Ashburton Ave left turn on to Park Ave. continuing to regular route.
  • Bee-Line Route 30 is operating on the standard snow detour
  • Coach USA - The last bus from NYC to Monroe, Middletown, Goshen, Exit 122, Circleville and all local points will be 6:00 p.m this evening. NO service after 6:00 p.m.
  • Coach USA - The last bus from NYC to Newburgh/Central Valley and all local points will be 5:35 p.m from NYC. Southbound to NYC from Newburgh the last bus will be 1:30 p.m. The last bus from Middletown, Goshen, Monroe, Chester will be 1:20 p.m this afternoon. 
  • Hudson Link - delays on all routes

Long Island

  • NICE Bus - expect delays
  • NICE Bus - Due to morning class cancelation at NCC, the n16x and n16NCCExpress has been suspended

New Jersey

  • Bus routes 196/197 will originate/ terminate at West Milford P&R on Tues, Feb. 12, 2019 due to impending winter weather conditions.
  • NJT bus tickets & passes will be cross-honored on NJT rail from Harriman, Tuxedo & Sloatsburg stations.
  • Short Line Bus will accept NJT tickets & passes in Orange County.
  • Montclair Boonton Line rail service is subject to 45 minute delays in both directions due to a motor vehicle on the tracks near Upper Montclair.

New York City

  • Coach USA - All service to/from Pennsylvania to/from NYC is canceled on Tuesday.
  • Coach USA - No service to/from NYC, Utica, Morrisville, Colgate.
  • Trailways cancellations here 

Central New York

  • Coach USA - No service to/from Ithaca for the rest of the day (2/12). Ithaca Platinum is cancelled for today. The last bus to Binghamton/Monticello today from NYC is 12:30 p.m. NO buses to Binghamton or Monticello after 12:30 p.m. The last bus from Binghamton to NYC is 11:10 a.m today.

Ferry Status

Hudson Valley

  • Winter contingency bus schedules will be in effect for Newburgh-Beacon Ferry.
  • The Haverstraw-Ossining Ferry will not operate this morning, due to ice conditions at the Haverstraw Ferry dock. Substitute bus service will transport passengers to and from Tarrytown Station.

New York City

  • NYC Ferry service is currently anticipated to operate on a normal schedule, but prepare for possible cancellations or delays.
  • The Staten Island Ferry is monitoring conditions closely and operating on a regular schedule. Passengers are advised to allow for extra travel time due to the possibility of weather related delays.


Due to the severe weather conditions in the forecast, we recommend only driving if it is absolutely necessary.
