Take the pledge today!

Join the worldwide movement to celebrate sustainable transportation on Car Free Day

Car Free Day is a free international event celebrated every September in which people are encouraged to get around without driving alone in cars and instead ride a train, bus, subway, bicycle, carpool, vanpool, or walk. For those that have the ability to work from home or drive an electric vehicle, EV’s and telework also counts. Car Free Day is open to anyone who lives or works in the Hudson Valley.

In 2019, more than 1,325 Hudson Valley Commuters went car free on Car Free Day. Help make Car Free Day 2020 a great success, take the free pledge today!

More Details

To participate, just fill out the pledge form, then go car free or go car-lite on Friday, September 25th. It’s that simple! Already car free? That’s great, and since you’re doing the right thing, you also get the same chance to win prizes when you fill out the pledge form.

Car Free Day is celebrated around the world in more than 2,000 cities and 40 countries.

The common goal is reducing the number of cars on the streets. The benefit is a day with less traffic congestion, a greener environment and reduced gasoline demand.
