Earth Month 2021

This year, the 511NY Rideshare team celebrated Earth Month throughout April by encouraging our members and partners to take an Earth Month pledge.

Throughout April, 482 people pledged to take part in at least one environmentally-conscious activity, including:

  • Participating in Meatless Monday

  • Using reusable products (bags, mugs, water bottles)

  • Combining errands to cut down on driving

  • Taking public transit instead of driving

  • Walking or biking instead of driving

  • Turning the thermostat up or down 2 degrees

  • Starting or maintaining kitchen composting

  • Switching to LED lightbulbs

Together, our members completed 2,177 environmentally conscious activities, leading to a 44,112 metric ton reduction in carbon emissions, and a 107,442 reduction in vehicle miles traveled.
